GOLFERS converged at Parklands Golf Club for the Monthly Medal on Saturday with a stroke event played amongst showery conditions.
LAST Saturday saw the completion of the first round of the Hamilton Golf Club men’s championships.
LAST Saturday’s golf event was a par event with a field of 59 men and 20 women.
THERE was a full program of events at Parklands this past week with competitions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, culminating with the main event on Saturday.
LAST Saturday’s men’s competition saw a contingent of players from Naracoorte playing for the Rippon Shield, an annual event which is held alternatively at Hamilton and Naracoorte Golf Clubs since 1950.
THOSE who have ever taken up a golf club and swung it at that miniscule white sphere called a golf ball will no doubt understand circumstances that are best described as ‘an unexpected and inexplicable change in a situation or in someone’s behaviour’.
HEAT, humidity, the lure of a cooler coast and finally a tropical downpour all conspired to ensure that last week’s golfing calendar at Parklands was reduced to a single event.
THE Hamilton Golf Club is excited about the resumption of beginner’s golf on February 15 with people of all ages encouraged to go along and get out on the course.
