MOUNT Clay Archers hosted the Greater Victorian Branch Shoot on the weekend with more than 80 competitors on show at the Heywood Sports Park.
Archers attended the two-day competition from across Victoria with Ballarat, Geelong and Colac some of the many clubs represented.
Mount Clay Archer and one of the event organisers Wendy Gallagher said it was a great two days of archery with some exciting results.
“It was a great weekend with 80 shooters in total. There were a couple of people who shot personal bests, and everyone had a good time,” Gallagher said.
“As always there was very tight competition in Adult Freestyle Unlimited A grade with only four points between first and second.
“There were no perfect rounds shot so the courses were challenging.
“Bowhunting awards for Greater Victorian Branch of Australian Bowhunting Association were held on Sunday night with Geelong Trophy Bowhunters taking home Bowhunting club of the year, taking it away from Mt Clay who have held it for quite a few years prior.
“Dylan Evans of Mt Clay Archers took out the Bowhunter of the year.”
