ST Andrew’s has kept its narrow Hamilton and District Cricket Association (HDCA) A grade finals hopes alive with a 34-run win against Casterton District at Melville Oval on Saturday.
The Maroons won the toss and bowled first, as Mike Fitzpatrick and Brendan Huf set about getting the Drews off to a high-scoring start.
The pair batted positively and put on 97 before Huf fell for 45 with Fitzpatrick falling soon after for 31.
The runs continued to flow, as Damien Logan’s 48-not-out helped continue the momentum, as Jacob Hill contributed 30 to help the home team to 4-183 from its 40 overs.
