AS cowboys and bull riders would typically be preparing for the Branxholme Rodeo, the recreation reserve is empty and there is not a flannelette shirt or cowboy hat in sight.

COVID continues to force the cancellation and postponement of events with both the Branxholme and Dartmoor Rodeos on the shelf in 2021.

The events are usually ran and promoted by Ron Woodall and sons, and Tony Woodall said the uncertainty around COVID continued to make planning for large events hard.

“I think it is just COVID and border closures in general (that has forced the events to be cancelled),” he said.

“I suppose it is just hard to keep everyone safe."
