State champs await

THE Hamilton and Alexandra college (THAC) students will be among 1700 athletes in attendance at the Rowing Victoria State Championships Regatta in Nagambie today and tomorrow.

THAC boys coach, Josh Frichot said the students have trained hard all season with today marking the end of an era for some rowers.

“Overall the boys have had a steady start to 2021 coming off an intense rowing camp in January with racing at the Barwon regatta to complete the camp,” he said.

After the cancellation of Ballarat’s Head of the Schoolboys’ regatta during the snap lockdown, THAC’s male Under-19 coxed quad scull will be aiming for glory, with Frichot stating the cancellation of the regatta was a bit of a blow for the senior crew.
