TWO locals have impressed during Sunday’s Hamilton Pony Club horse trials.

Indeya Talay and Matilda Mason won the Grade 3 Pony Club and Grade 4 Pony Club sections respectively, as nearly 70 riders gathered at the Yulecart grounds for the club’s biggest event of the year.

Club president, Katrina MacPherson said the event went smoothly barring a couple of incidents and was glad to see the day go ahead after a COVID-affected 2020.

“It was a great event, considering it was scheduled as the same weekend for the interschools for Victoria,” she said.

“We had good support from our local club, but we also had Heywood, Warrnambool, Ballarat area and Horsham area and as far away as Mildura all represented.
