Big win at home

HAMILTON has a new national champion after Mark Cottingham saluted in the final to win the Seniors Singles title at the Australian Blackball Championships last week.

The championships culminated on Saturday night and Cottingham held off South Queensland’s Ian Chung in the decider to win his first Australian title.

Cottingham said the win was up their with the best highlights of his career to date.

“It is definitely my biggest achievement apart from representing my country,” he said.
