THE 2021 South West Games gets underway on Saturday with Warrnambool City hosting this year’s multi-sport extravaganza.
The list of events has been confirmed with at least 15 sports being represented across the eight days.
Events ranging from hockey, bowls and field archery, right through to roller skating, croquet, bridge and even a triathlon.
This year’s games has a focus on participation and helping people return to the sporting arena after a tough two years, due to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent restrictions which have been in place.
Other sports to be included in this year’s event include cricket, football and Dragon Boat.
Some events are only open to club members, while others are open to the wider public.
For more information on getting involved in any of the events, contact South West Sport.
It shapes up to be a big week of competitions in Warrnambool, while Cavendish Recreation Reserve will host a field archery event on Sunday and Casterton will host the croquet event next Thursday, allowing for less travel for some players.
