FLYING Mascot, a racehorse with connections to Portland, earlier this week gained an invitation to race in the world’s richest 1600m race, the All-Star Mile, to be held at Flemington tomorrow.

However trainer Tom Dabernig has declined the offer, with a seven-day turnaround from last Saturday’s victory in the Group 3 Matron Stakes at Flemington deemed too short.
