Crash n’ bash headlines speedway meet

TONIGHT’S racing meet at Western Speedway is shaping up to be a big one, despite the Junior Sedans feature being cancelled, due to low nominations.

The meet will be headlined by the Crash n’ Bash Cannonball Cup with 20 nominations for the Open event, while 13 entries are set to take to the track for the ladies event.

Among the other events tonight is the Limited Sportsman Action Series feature round, which will include locals, Bayley Wilson, Dylan Anton and Craig Ansell, Katelyn Worthy and Jenny Godfrey, while Victorian champion, Jock Baker, and Andrew Wilson will also be vying for success.

Portland’s Bowen Donkers will also be searching for success.

Vintage Sedans will also be on track in Hamilton with Pete Newlan, Tom Grist, Michael Grist, Phil Grellet, Alex Miller, Damien Murley, Ray Hammond, James Robinson and Austin Corcoran nominating.

The Vintage Hotrods round out the schedule with James Pridham, John Chadwick, Noel Sharrock, Mark Dycer, Alan Howden, James Duri, Phil Williams, Darren Hetherington and Ron Taylor set to battle it out for overall honours.

The track has had some modifications to it for tonight’s event, reducing the likelihood of avoiding incidents during the cannonball cup.

It s the penultimate event of the speedway season and spectators are encouraged to get along to make the most of the action.
