JACK WALDRON
NORM Schwarz forgot his glasses for social bowls on Thursday and apologised to his skipper, Jack Waldron, before play had begun, citing he would not be able to see the kitty.
However, he had a great day and steered his pairs team to a great win with 24 shots up.
There was also a triples competition on the day, won by the little masters of the bowling arms, Ray Fary and Ron Steff, assisted by the brilliant Lachie Chugg.
A special welcome back to Angus McGillivary and well done to new bowler Bev Langsworth, who put down some great bowls.
Despite it being Easter weekend, there were 24 bowlers who joined in social bowls on Saturday.
Troy Greed and Helen Woods were the winners, followed closely by Barry Dowling and Graeme Langsworth.
The women’s 100 Up was due to be played this week, the last championship of the season, but may have to be deferred due to Easter.
Preparations are gathering pace for the Prime Lamb Day on May 7.
A prize of a leg of lamb may be your reward for winning this prestigious event.
Entries are now being taken with visitors especially welcome; play commences at 10am.
