THREE Portlanders took to the court in Warrnambool last week to compete in their Association Croquet Championships, with players finishing with some strong results.
It was an all-Portland final in division four with Meg Gallpen defeating fellow club member Jan Gray, 19-10.
The two players competed in separate pools against four other competitors, with the both of them finishing on top of their pool to make it through to the grand final.
Michael Edwards also had a strong tournament off the back of his Portland Association Championships victory the previous week.
He came up against Melbourne player Trevor Taylor, who Edwards defeated in the Portland grand final, but it was Taylor who came out on top on Wednesday.
Between the top three players it was a close contest with Taylor winning on 39 hoops, followed by Edwards on 33 and Gavin Woinarski from Melbourne recording 32.
