DARTMOOR’S annual rodeo was back on this weekend, contestants from across multiple states making the trek to participate in what proved to be an exciting day of action at Dartmoor Recreation Reserve.

Contestants competed in a total of six events across the day, with the key events being the open bull-riding and barrel racing.

Townsville’s Lane Hanush-Bowen was victorious in the open bull-riding event, taking home $2800 in prize money, while Emma Hamblin claimed top spot in the open barrel racing event.

Experienced rider, Cody Tyrell, was one of the event’s top performers, coming in first place in both the open saddle bronc and bareback horse riding.
