Lovett’s Anzac pride

ANZAC Day is a day with a great deal of significance for millions of Australians, but for Gunditjmara man Wally Lovett it’s an occasion that holds an extra special place in his heart.

Lovett, who played 28 games in the VFL for Collingwood and Richmond and was the first Indigenous man to don the black and white at Aussie Rules’ highest level of competition, was presented with the opportunity to perform the ceremonial coin flip to kick off Tuesday’s famous clash between Collingwood and Essendon.
