Hamilton Bowling Club Report

SATURDAY’S winter weather was perfect for the club’s second Bonanza Day, which was sponsored by generous club members who wish to remain anonymous the greens were perfect, the sausages and soup delicious and the afternoon tea tables groaned under the weight of the sumptuous food.

After six hours of fierce competition the team of Daryl Moore (Heywood) Peter Moller and Helen Mutch (Timboon) were declared the winners with three wins and a draw.

Close behind were Barry Jennings (Portland) John Crane and Jack Waldron. Third place went to Adam Berwick, Heather McIntyre and Rusty Mutch (Balmoral)

The last winter Bonanza Day is scheduled for August 3rd. Entries are now open- single entry, the match committee will put you in a team.

Many Hamilton Bowlers have hooked up their caravans and headed for the Queensland sun but there were still 34 bowlers  who joined in Thursday’s social bowls.

The intrepid Rob Baker teamed with Jack Waldron to win the pairs while

Ray Fary’s team won the triples with the surprising score of two draws and a win.

Finally, well done to Alison East who has been selected for the Para Victorian team to challenge NSW in August at St Johns club; and happy big, big, big birthday to wonderful club member Miriam. Congratulations.

Don’t forget there is indoor social bowls every Tuesday at 1.00 P.M.
