SATURDAY’S field included 48 men and 12 women, who participated in a stableford event.
John Hill had a day out, finishing with a very handy 38 points to win A grade from Shannon Kearns by one point, with Wayne Riddle rounding out the placegetters on 35.
B grade was won by Peter Fox who also accrued 38 points in what was a tight finish with runner-up, Aiden Christie, runner-up on a countback from Tyler Hards after both scored 37.
Balls down the line went to Ken Wright and Jamie Caruana 36 points, Jan Kautsky, Kim Fielke and Ross Murray 35.
Nearest the pin and superpin winner for the second week in a row was Jim King, taking home $66, while the sixth hole was won by John Warden, Tim Walkenhorst was closest on the 13th, and Riddle on the 16th.
The closest second shot on the ninth also went to Riddle and Trevor Wathen on the 15th.
In the women’s competition, Sue Vickery finished with 37 points to narrowly hold off runner-up, Rhonda Scullion, by a point.
Balls down the line went to Gerri Griffin 34 and Chantal Butcher 32.
Nearest the pin on the 16th hole was won by Butcher, with Vickery finishing closest on the second shot on the 15th.
Wednesday
A FIELD of 38 women played the stableford event with some fabulous scores recorded.
The A grade scoreboard saw Enid Smith on top with 37 points, with Margie Hadley runner-up on a countback with 36.
B grade was a high-scoring outing with Judy Thornton taking the honours on a countback from Wendy Wathen after both finished with 41.
Balls down the line went to Lisa Murphy 40, Rosemary Belcher, Bev Tyson and Bronwyn Dwight 38, and Pam White 37.
Nearest the pin on the third hole was Ath Archer, Helen Beattie had a day out taking nearest the pin on the sixth and 16th holes, along with holing the longest putt on the 13th, while Alma Fonda won the closest second shot on the 15th.
Tuesday
THE beginner and emerging golfers had ideal conditions for their nine-hole competition.
In the beginner group, Louise Field and Grant Hornell both finished with 21 points.
In the emerging group, Sarah Laidlaw was the winner with 21, from Leigh Coggins 20, and Alan McLaughlin 17.
Out and about
THE Hamilton team consisting of Rose Tonissen, Di Sevior and Jenny Upton had a day out at the Grampians Golf Club, winning the 3BBB tournament with a great score of 97 points.
