Hamilton Bowling Club report

SPRING is in the air and with it comes a new bowling season and a great number of activities for members and friends to engage in.

They include opening day, numerous club and association championships as well as pennant beginning in October.

When will there be time to keep the garden and house in order.

Alison East recently returned from a trip to the Para Bowls for Victoria and was the star attraction at social bowls this week.

There were 46 players on Thursday and 38 on Saturday, as players emerged from the winter gloom to prepare for the coming season.

On both days there were separate competitions with half playing triples and the other half playing pairs.

On Thursday, East teamed with rising Try Bowls star, Karen Mitchell, to win the pairs competition, and the amazing John Forsyth won the triples with Graeme Langsworth, who is in rare form and another star Try Bowler in Michael Holcombe.

On Saturday, veterans Edwin Maclean and Cliff Brinkmann showed the way with three wins and 21 shots more than their opponents.

East (Again), Peter Roberts and Roscoe Woodhouse dominated the triples.
