THE Far Western Bowls Association Weekend Pennant round three games were played on Saturday, with Penshurst collecting maximum points against Casterton.
Casterton travelled to Penshurst and was outclassed from the outset, going down 34-93.
Alaister Rentsch accounted for Garry Russell, 35-9, before Phillip Allen kept the momentum going for the home side with a 25-11 victory, while David Cook ensured the visitors left empty handed with a 33-14 result in the final rink.
Memorial travelled north to Balmoral and claimed 14 points after a 55-48 result.
Chris Bramley got the visitors on the board against Troy Gore, 22-15, Ian Grayson got the better of Neville Trotman, 20-17, while Derek Brody collected two points for the home side with a 16-13 win against Desmond Pitts.
Heywood accounted for Hamilton, 66-57, to finish with 14 of a possible 16 points.
Lionel Pevitt defeated Peter Graham, 20-17, and Ken Woolley rolled up 28 shots to Norm Pech’s 16, while Robert Thornton got Hamilton’s only win, holding off Mick Swan, 24-18.
Portland hosted Grangeburn and collected 14 points from the round three clash, 64-59.
Leah McCabe got the better of Lindsay Gruar, 24-20, to give the visitors two points, before Barry Jennings accounted for Trevor Partington, 20-18, before Michael Jennings sealed overall victory, 24-17, against Ken Prewett.
Division 2
GRANGEBURN got maximum points against Macarthur with a 45-30 win.
Fred Hardy rolled up 23 shots to Frank Pye’s 16, while Wayne Rigby defeated Carol Uebergang, 22-14.
Hamilton Gold pinched a point from Portland, but went down overall, 33-52.
Michael Pech and Richard Speers drew, 20-20, before Alan Warburton finished with 32 to hold off Jim Brody’s 13.
Memorial Red claimed club bragging rights against Memorial Blue, 54-26.
Robert McIntyre defeated Gerry Watt, 25-17, while Paul Soffe got the better of Robert Hamblin, 29-9.
Coleraine travelled into town to take on Hamilton Green and took back 12 of a possible 14 points.
Bruce Armstrong rolled up 36 to Heather McIntyre’s 10, while Max Spiller put up 24 to Rodney Woolley’s 12.
Division 3
PENSHURST was at home against Hamilton Green and won, 44-24, to collect 12 points.
John King got the better of Miriam Tonissen, 28-5, while Rhonda Dunbar collected two points for the visitors with a 19-16 win against Barry King.
Dartmoor defeated Portland, 36-27, thanks to Peter Holmes’ 24-10 win against Andrew Smail, while Les Baker rolled up 17 to Ross Kerr’s 12.
Hamilton Gold dominated at home against Heywood, collecting all 14 points on offer with a 46-27 win.
Raymond Fary rolled up 26 to Corey Spruit’s 12, while Tom Storer got the better of Desmond Stuchbery, 20-15.
Memorial ensured Grangeburn left empty handed with a 48-22 win.

Balmoral was at home against Portland and collected 12 points after winning, 47-44.
Alan Perry’s 33-16 victory against Naomi Pye was pivotal, as Myra Bourke rolled up 28 to Paul Raggatt’s 14 to give the visitors a sniff of victory.
Coleraine returned from Hamilton with 12 points following its 45-36 victory.
Arthur Guy led the way for the visitors with a 30-14 win against Kevin Buck, but Hamilton’s Ray Downes responded with a 22-15 win against Paul Guy.
