Barber Boys’ win extends gap at top

BARBER Boys have moved two games clear in top spot of the Hamilton Basketball Association (HBA) Men’s Division 1 ladder after a thrilling one-point win against Minders Blue on Wednesday night.

The early game provided plenty of fireworks with both teams putting on strong efforts in offence.

Aaron Glare found his range early on and put up two maximums on his way to a game-high 16 points, but it wasn’t enough to help his team get over the line, losing 42-43.

Joel Le Roy and Jakob Greaves both put up 13 points each for the winners in the early game.

Minders White d St Mary’s Orange

White did all he could to drag his team over the line, putting up 32 points including 15 points from long range, but the lack of support from his teammates meant Orange fell 12 points short of victory.

Josh Miller continued his impressive season, sinking 15 points for White, while Paul Churchill (12 points) and Bailey Cooper (11 points) also hit double figures in the round 12 win.

Charlize Cooper finished with 12 points, while Ruby Cleaver added 11 for Black in the round 12 loss.
