THE Hamilton Hurricanes will continue their run of home Country Basketball League (CBL) games when they host Millicent at HILAC on Sunday at 1pm.
The Magic sit in fourth spot with three wins and two losses after a busy start to the season, while the Hurricanes are yet to record a win from their three games.
The locals will field their best possible team, welcoming back Sam Brewer, James Cleaver and Archie Porter into the squad, while the Hurricanes have also picked up Matt Parker from Bacchus Marsh as a defensive guard.
Hamilton co-coach, Dean Le Roy said he was excited to see the progression of the team on Sunday.
“They (Millicent) are coming off a double header, they have got to travel to Colac on Saturday night then we catch them at home on Sunday,” he said.
“This weekend is probably going to be our main core 10, and to have them all together on Sunday will be great.”
Hamilton has shown glimpses of their best, but have yet to put a full game, and with Millicent averaging 84 points each game, the home side will need to be at their defensive best to stand a chance of victory.
“We will definitely take a defensive approach to the game,” he said.
“They have got three really good scorers, so will try and keep the ball out of their hands as much as possible.
“Being able to piece four quarters together has been our downside, it is inexperience, fitness and chemistry and a mixture of things.
“If we can piece it all together, I think we could go toe-to-toe with all the teams.” The juniors will also be in action, with Warrnambool hosting its annual junior tournament this weekend.
