Hurricanes set for the Seahawks

THE Hamilton Hurricanes will start its away stretch with a trip to Warrnambool to take on the Seahawks in Country Basketball League (CBL) action tonight.

The Hurricanes hosted the Seahawks in round two and went down, 56-102, and will be hoping for a better defensive effort against the fifth-placed Warrnambool side.

Josh Miller and Sam Brewer sit equal second for three-pointers scored in the competition, each putting up 21, with Miller’s 170 points enough to have him fifth in total points scored.

Hamilton’s scoring has flowed relatively well from week to week, but defensive lapses have proved costly, including a 25-8 quarter last week against Colac.

A strong four-quarter effort should see Hamilton remain competitive deep in the contest, but the experience of Warrnambool will be hard to combat in tonight’s round 10 clash.
