TWO Hamilton Hurricanes teams contested the Junior Country Championships in Bendigo, with the Under-16 Boys and Under-16 Girls teams in action at the weekend.
The Under-16 Girls contested the Division 1 and 2 section, opening up the weekend with a 25-33 loss to Warrnambool Mermaids.
Next up was a clash against Pakenham Warriors, with the locals edging clear when it mattered most to win, 29-28, before a round three win against Surfcoast Chargers, 47-32.
A quarter-final match-up against Bendigo Braves saw the team fall, 22-48, in a weekend the players would have gained plenty of experience from.
The Under-16 Boys team also entered the Division 1 and 2 section and opened the weekend with a 52-48 victory against the Echuca Pirates.
Hamilton then faced Pakenham in round two and went down, 46-65, before losing in round three against the Traralgon T-Birds, 36-65.
Both teams played strong basketball at times and should be proud of their efforts.
