THE Hamilton Basketball Association season rolled on with round two games this week, including some big wins for Division 1 teams.
Women’s Division 1-2
St Mary’s d Barber Babes
THE middle game ended up being the first game played, due to a forfeit, and St Mary’s dominated from the outset to claim a 38-point win on Tuesday night.
The Saints burst out of the blocks, piling on the points while restricting Barber Babes to just four first-half points.
Nineteen points separated the two teams at half team, with plenty of work ahead for Barber Babes to narrow the deficit.
The second half was similar, although Barber Babes doubled their output to finish the game with 12 points, but it was no match for the Saints’ 50-point haul in round two.
Zoe Vankalken-Flack topped the scoring for St Mary’s with 12 points, while Amy Pepper put up five points for Barber Babes.
Tigers d St Mary’s Black
TIGERS remain undefeated this season with a 20-point win against St Mary’s Black in the late game.
Black struggled to keep up with Tigers in the first half, putting up just 12 points, while conceding 25 points at the other end, giving Tigers a comfortable scoreboard buffer going into the main break.
The second half was a much more competitive contest, with Black adding 24 points to Tigers’ 31, as Black eventually fell short of victory, 36-56, at the final buzzer.
Saskia Gould was Black’s best with 11 points, while Maddison Rhook finished with 14 points to guide Tigers to victory.

St Mary’s started the better of the two teams, putting up 22 first-half points to Barber Boys’ 12, to take a handy lead into half time.
The second half saw the game flip with Barber Boys rallying after the main break and improving their scoreboard output.
Aaron Glare and Shai Bunworth led the resurgence, putting up strong efforts to drag their side back into the contest.
It was too little too late though, with Barber Boys falling a point short of the Saints on the scoreboard at the end of the game.
Archie Porter finished with 12 points for the winners, while Glare put up 11 points for Barber Boys.
