THE Hamilton Basketball Association regular season finished up this week with round 15 games played on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Women’s Division 1
St Mary’s Orange d Tigers
ST Mary’s Orange will go into finals with extra confidence after a 29-point win against Tigers on Tuesday night.
The first half was a one-sided contest, with Orange dominating and going into half time with an 18-point scoreboard advantage.
Orange continued after the break and kept the scoreboard ticking over, as the team went on to win, 43-14.
Phoebe Dunn top-scored for the winners with 13 points, while Rhianne Lewis put up five points for Tigers.
St Mary’s Black d St Mary’s White
IT was a night off for St Mary’s Black, winning via forfeit against St Mary’s White.
Men’s Division 1
Barber Boys d GT Storm
WEDNESDAY’S early game saw Barber Boys get the better of GT Storm by six points.
The first half was a competitive contest, with both teams enjoying the momentum at different times, but Barber Boys did enough to go into the main break with a three-point lead.
With both sides still in contention, the start of the second half was critical, but it was Barber Boys which hung on to win, 43-37.
Joel Le Roy led the way for the winners with 10 points, while Wynn Rentsch and Cody Overton each put up 10 points for GT Storm.
Minders d St Mary’s Orange
IT was an even closer contest in the late game, with Minders accounting for St Mary’s Orange by one point to claim the minor premiership.
Orange started the better of the two teams, scoring 16 points in the first half to lead by three at half time.
Minders got rolling with 26 points in the second half to pinch the narrowest of wins, 39-38.
Bailey Cooper scored 14 points for the winners, while Deacon White finished with 12 for St Mary’s Orange.
