THE current Victorian-South Australian border closure is the only thing standing in the way of a return to the boxing ring for some of Ray ‘Mocka’ McIntosh’s brightest talents.
With sanctioned events all but called off in Victoria for the rest of 2020, bouts started in South Australia recently with McIntosh eyeing off a trip over the border if the restrictions ease soon.
The current restrictions prevent any contact training, meaning it was up to each of the eight individuals under McIntosh’s watch to maintain conditioning during stage three lockdown.
“If (restrictions) are lifted, we will be back to full training, as if we are prepping for a fight,” McIntosh said.
“Plan A is South Australia and plan B might not happen.”
