DUNKELD’S Vincent Huf continues his talent pathway journey with the 16-year-old selected in the 2020-21 Cricket Victoria Under-17 Male Emerging Performance squad.
It is the second consecutive year he was selected in the squad after a strong 2019-20 Youth Premier League (YPL) season.
After analysis of his bowling action forced him to go undergo significant changes, Huf said the selection helped show the changes had been successful.
“(Selection) gives me a lot more confidence just because I have had success with changing my bowling action,” he said.
“I put so much effort into last year and not being able to play in the Under-17 national championships, but to bounce back and get selected again is great.
“I had a good performance in the YPL last year, especially with the bat, I was pretty confident I would be given another opportunity, especially the way I was able to bounce back.” The Grampians Cricket Club player was picked as a bowling all-rounder and continues to improve his game with the group having virtual meetings to monitor progress, due to coronavirus preventing the squad from gathering in person.
