AS the Emerging Easter Series continues this week, Tom Nelson is one player who was looking forward to it more than most.

Not only is the opening bowler playing against the state’s best cricketers, but it is the first time he has visited his grandparents’ hometown.

The 18-year-old said he was taking a relaxed approach to the week.

“I think it is just to come out and showcase my skills and the skills of the other players,” he said.

“I thought it would be good, but they (facilities) are very good.

“They have I’d say matched and exceeded my expectations.”
