Tigers set for new nets

TARRINGTON Cricket Club has had a win off the field with the club set to receive $15,000 to upgrade its cricket nets.

The announcement was made by Wannon MP, Dan Tehan, on Wednesday with the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme making the funds possible.

Club committee member, Adam Bester said it would be a big boost to the Tigers, who are looking to expand and create new teams.

“We have outgrown this facility with the number of kids and adults we are getting into the club,” he said.

“This new funding will upgrade the nets and enable more kids to participate and it will be available for the wider community as well.

“We are looking at getting an Under-16 team and an all-girls team as well, hence that is why we need the upgrades to the net, because there will be more people using it.”
