A maroon Vickery

COLERAINE’S senior football team will receive a huge boost today with the one-off inclusion of former Richmond and Hawthorn big-man, Tyrone Vickery.

Vickery’s dad, John Vickery played at the club as a kid and his grandparents lived in Coleraine, making the small town an often holiday destination for the former AFL player.

As a kid, Tyrone would visit his grandparents and make trips across to Silvester Oval where he would kick the football with other kids, including close mate and former Maroon, Jarryd Lewis.

Only rekindling his playing career this year, Tyrone decided after the constant questioning from his mates it was time to re-enter the game, leading to this weekend’s opportunity.
