THE Hamilton Boomers hosted an all-abilities football carnival at the weekend, dominating proceedings to remain undefeated.
The Boomers hosted the Wimmera Whippers, Grampians Giants and Warrnambool Hurricanes with each team playing each other once on Sunday.
The home team went through the day undefeated, accounting for the Whippets by 28 points, the Giants by 36 and the Hurricanes by 30 points.
Tom Brody was the standout up forward for the blue and white, kicking five goals across the day, while Adam Bunworth kicked four majors, Daniel Whennen chipped in with two, and Jonathan Trotter, Darryl Trotter and John Greengrass kicked one each.
Darryl Trotter was named the best Boomers player for his work through the midfield, while Jonathan Trotter was named the best player across the four teams.
Football Integration Development Association (FIDA) coordinator, Tamara Startin, was in attendance for the games and Boomers co-administrator, Doug Ward said the day was a bit success.
“We had a great turnout from the different teams and it was a really good feeling,” he said.
“It was great weather and a really happy occasion, the only downside was one of the Giants players ended up getting cracked ribs.”
The Boomers will open their FIDA season with a clash against the Hurricanes at Melville Oval on May 1.
