THE Hamilton Kangaroos remain on top of the Western Victoria Female Football League (WVFFL) ladder with a nine-point win against Tyrendarra at Yumbah Oval on Sunday.
The Roos kicked two goals in the first term to grab the momentum with the Darras going into the first break trailing by 11 points.
Hamilton continued its dominance in the second term, as the home team went into half time having scored just five behinds and trailing the visitors by 14 points.
Scoring was harder to come by in the second half, with both teams combining for five goals.
Tyrendarra scored three majors, but it was not enough to close the deficit, as a two-goal second half saw Hamilton claim victory, 5.4 (34) to 3.7 (25).
Inaccuracy proved costly for the home side, missing plenty of chances, while the Roos still have plenty to work on despite the win.
Zhane Crawford kicked two goals for the visitors, while Emily Pitts was the team’s best along with Jess Bouwman and Chloe Smith.
The Darras’ scoring was spread evenly with no multiple goal kickers.
Eliza Fitzpatrick was the team’s best player.
