HAWESKDALE-MACARTHUR climbed back onto the winners list, accounting for Great Western at Macarthur Recreation Reserve in Mininera and District Football League action on Saturday.
A stunning eight goals to none first quarter set the foundation for the victory, as the home side took its performance to a higher level than recent weeks, going on to win, 25.8 (158) to 8.15 (63).
By the long break, the Eagles had posted 15 majors and only missed two shots on goal, dominating play across the ground.
It was more of the same in the second half, as the home side took no mercy on their visitors, looking to post a huge margin and a percentage boost after suffering loses in their last four matches.
Another 10 goals were posted during the second half as the dominance continued with Josh Reichman, Andrew McCartney, Ollie Wortley, Jak Sproal, Sam Jewell and Lachlan Tanner all produced good form to lift the Eagles up the ladder, while Tom Robinson, Renn Lovitt, Will Clark, Samuel Cocks, Nicholas McCartney and Darby Grinham battled hard all day for Great Western.

PENSHURST has recorded a fine victory against Wickliffe-Lake Bolac at Penshurst, as the Bombers took control of the match after a six goal first term.
The home side bucked the trend that plagued matches across the district by kicking for goal without missing in that first stanza, as they rattled home six majors to open a 20-point lead at the break.
That straight kicking wasn’t too last long, posting 4.7 for the second term as Wickliffe-Lake Bolac applied more pressure to the Penshurst forwards, but the lead increased to 32 points by the long break, as the Bombers refused to allow the visitors back into the contest.
The second half would see Wickliffe-Lake Bolac roar back into contention, restricting Penshurst to only eight shots at goal for the half while the Magpies recorded 13.
But it was inaccurate kicking that ended up costing the visitors as they posted 4.9 for the second half to fall short by 27 points, 14.11 (95) to 9.14 (68).
Sam Weston, Nathan Rentsch, Jacob Mibus, Kieran Neeson, Daniel Rentsch and Sam Hasell had huge games for the Bombers, while Will Cameron, Charles Vallance, Jake Williamson, Samuel Handley, Jye Hare, James Boseley tried to drag the Magpies across the line in reply.
LISMORE-DERRINALLUM recorded a strong victory at home against Glenthompson-Dunkeld to remain in third place on the premiership ladder and remain a game clear of fourth-placed Penshurst.
A four-goal second term allowed the home side to kick away from the visitors and from there Lismore-Derrinallum was able to fend off all thoughts of a comeback from Glenthompson-Dunkeld
Bradley Ward, Steven Ryan, Lachlan Bryant, Brodie Doolan, Jack Atkins and Jack Pitts had match-winning performances for the home side, while Tyler Staude, Dylan Ross, Donald Collins, Mitchell Johnson, Jarrod Stone and Henry Barr battled hard all day for the Rams.
CARAMUT travelled to Willaura to take on the Pumas and came away with the points, as the visitors recorded a 16.20 (116) – 12.13 (85) victory that was set up by a five-goal first quarter that the hosts couldn’t claw back, despite a revitalised second half that saw them out score the Swans.
ARARAT Eagles had the road trip to Woorndoo to face-off against the Tigers, and the visitors came away with the win to remain undefeated after the first six rounds.
The visitors fought back from a 23-pont deficit at the first break to slam through 10 goals to three in the final three quarters to win, 12.9 (81) to 9.6 (60).
Adrian Reid, Josh Hustler, Ryan Weppner, Damian Joiner, Ben Robertson and Tom Taurau all played well for the visitors, while Tyler Fowler, William Paulin, Charlie Stewart, William Templeton, Liam Meekes, Jordan Buckley battled hard for the home side.
TATYOON sits atop the premiership ladder after the first six rounds of the 2022 season after it dealt SMW Rovers’ hopes of a top five finish a blow, trouncing the hosts by 18 goals, 19.18 (132) to 3.3 (21).
Anthony Rosato, Tim McDougall, Andrew Maconachie, William Henderson, Luke Soligo and Thomas Quick ensuring the brown and gold remained undefeated, while Jonathan Box, Daniel Curran, Shane Lench, Joe O’Donnell, Thomas McPhan and Thomas Thewlis gave the Bulldogs every chance.
