Young Tigers face Cavendish in WVFFL round three

PORTLAND’S under-18 Western Victoria Female Football League team will compete in their second game of the season when they take on the newly formed Cavendish side on Sunday.

The young Tigers will travel to Cavendish for the round three clash and will be eager to take to the field after sitting out with a bye last week.

It was a tough opening round for Portland who went down to Horsham in a big loss round one but with some extra training under their belt they will be eager to contest the Cavendish outfit.

Tyrendarra host Stawell

In the open women’s competition Tyrendarra will head into round three with plenty of confidence after securing their first win of the season against reigning premiers Hamilton last week.

The Darras host Stawell on Sunday with the match scheduled for a 1pm start.

With a number of players out last week Tyrendarra will be hoping to welcome back some key players into their line up for Sunday’s hit out.

It has been a tough start to the season for Stawell who are yet to post a score in their first two clashes.

While they are yet to win a game Stawell has some impressive star power including the talents of former league best and fairest runner-up Vanilla Ika who has been dominant the past few seasons.
