SOUTHERN ROOS LOOK TO KNOW OFF RAMS

HARROW-BALMORAL will be looking to continue its undefeated run when it takes on Natimuk United today in round 12 of the Horsham District Football Netball League (HDFNL).

The battle will go ahead at Natimuk Showgrounds with the Rams hoping for an upset to get their fifth win of the season, as the side currently sits in eighth position on the ladder.

Last time the sides met back in round two, it was the Southern Roos that ran away with the game convincingly as they dominated the play to win by 99 points at the final siren.

In the clash, the Rams came out firing and took it up to the premiership favourites with three goals in the first quarter to only trail by 11 points.

But it was the second term where Harrow-Balmoral turned it on, controlling everything to kick 10 goals in the quarter and put the game to bed.

Since then, the formidable side has had no trouble defeating all of its opponents by significant margins and looks firmed as the side to beat when finals come around.

The blue and white is coming off a big win against Edenhope-Apsley at home and the spirits will be high for the group.

Despite missing its two leading goalkickers for the season in Simon Close and Jimmy Staude, the side was far too strong for the fighting Saints winning 18.23 (131) to 5.10 (40).

Nick Pekin and Jai Thompson combined for seven goals between them making a huge impact on the scoreboard - these two will look to play a vital role against the Rams today both on and off the field.
