AFTER a small break from football responsibilities, the Hamilton Kangaroos converged on Melville Oval for their first pre-season training session under new coach, Hamish Waldron, on Wednesday night.
The session attracted good numbers, with the club keen to get a few sessions in before Christmas.
Waldron said he was happy with the session and the numbers who attended.
“We had good numbers, I think we had about 42 there and 10 apologies as well,” he said.
“Being so early, a lot of people aren’t thinking about football just yet.
“It was good just to get back, we trained for an hour and a half, but we just did some light skills.
“It was all stop and start this year, but that is probably why I wanted to start a bit earlier.”
The Kangaroos will train Mondays and Wednesdays up until December 22 before breaking for Christmas.
The first 2022 session is scheduled for January 24.
