HAMILTON Kangaroos easily accounted for the Camperdown Magpies in the Hampden Football Netball League (HFNL) Under 18.5 competition, dominating the entire game to win by 66 points, 10.13 (73) to 1.1 (7).
While Camperdown sits on the very bottom of the ladder, the strong performance puts Hamilton in third position with a healthy percentage of 151.05.
The Roos kicked one goal in the first term to no score and despite being the better side, some ineffective shots on goal meant that the Magpies were still right in the game.
The margin had increased to 25 points at the main break with the home side yet to register a score as Hamilton controlled play all across the ground.
Jake Hardy was dangerous in the forward line giving his defender some issues as he led the way slotting three goals for the game.
Camperdown managed to get on the board in the third term kicking 1.1, however a dominant last quarter gave the blue and white a percentage-boosting win.
Ben Marti was a class above dictating play and bringing all of his teammates into the game through getting his hands on the contested footy.
The visitors made a statement in the fourth quarter as they doubled their goal tally to run away with a 66-point win.
The likes of Charlie Field and Ben Potter got in on the action up forward booting two majors each, as Thomas Logan, Kaeden Talay and Marti all contributed with singles.
Potter has been a player to watch for Hamilton this season and is yet to have a game in which he hasn’t scored a goal, the young man is up to 12 goals this season.
Marti’s strong four-quarter saw him awarded as Kangaroos’ best player while Angus Kissel, Field, Marcus Matuschka, Logan and Jake Tonissen were also among the best.
Hamilton has won its last three games and has been around the mark all season with not much separating the side from the teams its fallen short to.
North Warrnambool (eight points) and Warrnambool (nine points) have been the only losses for the Roos this year, as well as a draw with South Warrnambool back in round six.
Hamilton looks well poised to be a big threat later in the year, the side has a lot of depth, and this could be the difference against some other top sides.
