HAMILTON Kangaroos start their run towards the finals today when they host North Warrnambool Eagles at Pedrina Park in round 10 of the Hampden Football Netball League (HFNL) Open netball competition.
After nine rounds, the home side has lost only twice (to South Warrnambool and Koroit) while they drew against Cobden in the only games where they have dropped points.
Madsie Phillips made a surprise return to the court last week against Camperdown and played two quarters of solid netball, but she is expected to play the whole game if called upon today.
North Warrnambool Eagles enter the game six points behind the Roos on the ladder, but the visitors do hold the fifth rung of the ladder, so they will be a tough opponent that the home side can ill afford to take lightly.
“We know it'll be another tight game and we've got some positional changes with Kellie (Sommerville) away still, but I know the players that are in have the skill and knowledge to play the brand of netball we've been working so hard on,” Hamilton Kangaroos co-coach, Emma Sommerville said.
