HAMILTON Kangaroos will be seeking to unleash a blue and white wave over Port Fairy at Gardens Oval this afternoon when they seek redemption for the round four loss to the Seagulls earlier in the season.
The old saying of “winning form is good form” rings true for the Kangaroos coming into this game after they accounted for Portland in terrible conditions at Melville Oval last weekend.
The home side booted the highest score of the round in the Hampden Football Netball League and it could have been so much more, such was the dominance the Roos had over the Tigers.
Despite the wet and mud-soaked ball, the Kangaroos were able to win the ball on the inside and deliver clean ball to their outside runners with deft handball.
Precise penetrating kicking into the forward fifty then allowed the forwards to set up the victory.
Back in round four, Cameron Pither, Deacon White, Rory Gill, Taine Morris and Cameron Whyte were on fire for the Roos and not much has changed except that Ethan Knight, Jack Jennings, Charlie Alexander, Darcy Russell and Zach Burgess have joined their teammates in playing well.
With the inclusion of Brad Thomas into the side, the Roos have gained a wealth of experience and a player who is all class - even in the latter stages of his career he is still head and shoulders above most in the competition.
The Seagulls have improved in the last seven rounds after using that round four victory as a launching point to climb the ladder, after posting five wins and a draw from the seven rounds to sit on the seventh rung of the ladder - one win out of the top five.
