THE Hamilton Kangaroos are set to go into the 2025 Hampden Football Netball League season with stability, re-signing senior football coach, Brad Thomas, for next year’s campaign.
Thomas joined the club as coach this year, and has taken a longer term approach to the year, blooding plenty of young talent and developing the group.
The local said the time was right to commit to the club and was looking forward to building on the 2024 foundations.
“The time was right to recommit to what we have started at the club,” he said.
“The senior playing group have brought into the new game style, but I feel like there is still a lot more improvement to come.
“The improvement in the current group, along with the large contingent of Under-18 players coming through the system, means the club can continue to grow next season.”
Hamilton Kangaroos Football Netball Club president, Dave Hintum said another year under Thomas would be a positive move for the senior team.
“Brad has displayed an amazing work ethic, particularly given the complexities of not having a home base for the season,” he said.
“He has remained positive throughout with a very clear game plan and intended direction for this team.
“The development of our talented youth is a major strength of the club at this point and it has been clear to see the progress they have made throughout the season.
“We are all in agreement that our focus must continue along this path for the club to enjoy sustained success on and off the field.”
Thomas’ buy-in around the club has been evident since coming back to the club to play some games in 2023.
“He has also committed to building strong relationships with players, supporters, volunteers and sponsors at all levels and combined with an outstanding football intelligence, we are extremely confident that this group will continue to improve,” Hintum said.
“The feedback received from key personnel within the club has been overwhelming and we look forward to supporting Brad as we continue our journey towards long-term prosperity.”
