THE Hamilton Kangaroos will face another tough test today when they travel to Mortlake’s D.C. Farran Oval to take on Terang-Mortlake in Hampden Football Netball League round 15 action.
The Bloods are sitting pretty in fourth spot, while the Roos are in ninth, and will be desperate to put in a four-quarter performance after going down to North Warrnambool Eagles last weekend.
The visitors will go into the clash with a changed side from last week, with Lachie Urquhart, James Whyte, Jack English and Luke Barnes all returning, while Hamish Waldron, Jake Donoghue, Bailey Mason and Hugh Douglas make way.
Kangaroos coach, Brad Thomas said the team had been working hard to putting together four strong quarters.
“The players have been working heavily on it,” he said.
“Having that winners mindset and sticking to the role, knowing it and playing it.
“We are developing processes and it won’t happen overnight, but when we play at our best, I feel like we are as good as anyone.
“We just need to string it together for four quarters.”
With some leg speed coming back into the side and a bolstered midfield taking to the field, Thomas expects it to be a fast-paced game.
“The ground has held up well from what I have heard, (and) it is a big ground,” he said.
“The idea is to bring in some runners, and to get Jack (English) back in as a huge in for us with his drive and handball chains he gets involved in.
“Terang-Mortlake has got their best team available this weekend and Will Kain comes back in for them as well.
“I believe they are probably nearly the team to beat this year, when they get the balance right, I think they are going to be the team to beat.
“Terang move the ball really well and can move it pretty quick with forward handball, so it is very green light footy
“On a bigger ground, it exposes us more defensively, so it will really test our offence as well.”

THE Hamilton Kangaroos will take on Terang-Mortlake at D.C. Farran Oval in the hopes of notching up a second win of the season.
Terang-Mortlake sits in seventh position with six wins, and will go in as favourites this afternoon, but the Kangaroos are building and will be eyeing off an upset win.
Roos playing-coach, Emma Sommerville, has been a pillar in defence for the team, along with the experience of Kellie Sommerville and Clare Crawford.
Captain, Ella Sevior, has also been strong in defence, with Saskia Gould set to be critical to the team’s chances today, as the youngster has shown she has a presence in the goal circle and has formed a strong partnership with Crawford in attack.
