THE Hamilton Kangaroos will be eyeing off back-to-back wins today when they travel to Gardens Oval to take on Port Fairy in Hampden Football Netball League round 16 action.
The Kangaroos upset Terang-Mortlake last week in their biggest win of the season, and will see this afternoon’s clash as winnable with Seagulls sitting in bottom place on the ladder – their only win of the season was against Hamilton in round seven.
Maddox Ryan has improved immensely over the season and stood up last week, and will be hoping to keep that form going this week along with her teammates.
Saskia Gould has had a strong presence in the goal circle as well, and the team will be looking to apply plenty of pressure and make the most of turnovers.
Kellie Sommerville’s experience through the midcourt has also been instrumental, not afraid of the contest and leads from the front, and no doubt Roos coach, Emma Sommerville, will be telling her squad they have the ability to return from Port Fairy with a third win of the season this afternoon.

THE Hamilton Kangaroos will be out to knock off Port Fairy when they face-off at Gardens Oval today.
The Roos have shown their best can match it with the rest of the competition, as evidenced by last week’s 20-point loss to fourth-placed Terang-Mortlake, but a four-quarter effort will be required against the Seagulls on their home ground this afternoon.
Port Fairy won the earlier season clash by 37 points, with inaccuracy costing the Roos, 11.11 to 18.6.
Seagulls skipper, Matt Sully, is still out with suspension, with the tall utility bagging four goals earlier in the season, but Jason Rowan will be the main threat, kicking seven goals against Hamilton in round seven and sitting third on the league goal kicker list with 43.
The midfield battle will decide this contest with the likes of Rory Gill, Jack English and Ethan Knight for the visitors up against Port Fairy’s Dylan Gunning and Ollie Myers
