Hampden finals get underway with Roos well represented

HAMPDEN Football Netball League finals get underway today, with two Hamilton Kangaroos teams sitting out the opening weekend, due to finishing on top of the ladder.

The Under-18 football and Division 3 sides will assess the other four teams in premiership contention, while the Roos have representation on the netball court on Saturday at Friendly Societies Park and Sunday at Cobden Recreation Reserve.

The Kangaroos Division 1 team will be in action on Saturday, taking on Koroit in a qualifying clash with Port Fairy awaiting the winner in next Saturday’s second semi-final, while the loser will take to the court again next Sunday in the first semi-final.

Hamilton’s 15-and-Under side also earnt the double chance, and will face-off against North Warrnambool Eagles in a qualifying final earlier in the day, in hopes of progressing into the second semi-final against South Warrnambool.

The blue and white’s 13-and-Under side will also be in action on Saturday, going up against Koroit, with the winner set to play South Warrnambool next Saturday for a spot in the grand final.

The loser will be in action next Sunday.

The 13-and-Under Reserves side rounds out the Kangaroos’ representation on Saturday, facing off against Camperdown, with the Roosters awaiting the winner in next Saturday’s second semi-final.

Hamilton also has two teams in action on Sunday, with the 15-and-Under Reserves facing off against Warrnambool in an elimination final.

The Division 2 side will also be battling to progress through to week two of finals, facing off going up against the Saints, with the loser to drop out of premiership contention.
