Cats continue a killer run

AFTER a bit of a sleepy start to the season, Casterton Sandford came out all guns blazing at the weekend, notching up a 118-nil win in round two of the Limestone Coast Women's Football League.

While a lack of cohesiveness in the forward line plagued the Cats as they tested the waters with new teammates last week, there were no such issues against Kalangadoo at the weekend.

The Cats had 12 majors on the board as they went into the long break and if not for some inaccurate kicking - seven behinds and just one goal - in the third quarter, the final margin could have neared the 200-mark.

Cats' youngster, Makayla Hutchins, led from the front with four goals, while newcomer, but no stranger to the game, Amelia Thomas, was the team's best-on.

The win puts the Cats at the top of the table by percentage, as they head to Blue Lake Sports Park this Sunday, to take on the South Gambier Demons at home.
