BOMBERS COMPLETE UNDEFEATED SEASON

PENSHURST has completed an undefeated season as they won the Mininera and District Netball Association (MDNA) 15-and-Under grand final on Saturday against Wickliffe-lake Bolac at Mininera Recreation Reserve.

The first quarter was a very even contest as it only saw the Bombers up by one goal, but in the second quarter Penshurst started hitting their straps and at half time they had a four-goal lead.

Over the next two quarters the Bombers continued their form and ended up comfortable winners, winning 35-21 and Noni Blanchett of Penshurst was named best on court.

GLENTHOMPSON-DUNKELD capped off a dominant season winning the 13 and Under competition against Penshurst 29-20.

The Rams started well as they were up by two goals at quarter time, but Penshurst closed this gap to only one by half-time.

The Rams had a dominant third quarter to set up their win and Charlotte Alderman from Glenthompson-Dunkeld was presented with the best on court medal.

PENSHURST couldn’t quite get the job done in the 18-and-Under grand final as Woorndoo-Mortlake was crowned premiers after defeating the Bombers 36-26 with Elise Killen of Woorndoo Mortlake was named best on court.

TATYOON was too good in C Grade as they beat Penshurst 29-21, as Lily Hitchcock was judged to be best on court for the Hawks.

In B Grade, Ararat came from behind to beat Tatyoon in a two-point thriller after being down at three quarter time with Julia Law from Tatyoon gaining the best on court medal. TATYOON capped off a phenomenal season by beating Ararat in the A Grade grand final by four goals, where it led at each change and claimed victory 38-34, with Jane Astbury named best on court.
