THE Mininera and District Football League/Netball Association’s 2024 fixture has been released with the season getting underway on April 20.
The 16-round season will get started with the 2023 senior football grand final rematch part of the opening round, with the Hawks set to unfurl their flag against the Tigers, while Tatyoon will also kickstart it’s A grade netball premiership with the same match-up, ahead of the grand final rematch in round 10.
Penshurst will host Hawkesdale-Macarthur in round four, while Hawkesdale-Macarthur will host the return clash against Penshurst in round 15.
The Bombers are also set for home ground advantage against Glenthompson-Dunkeld in round eight, before the Rams travel south to take on Hawkesdale-Macarthur in round 10.
The final home and away round is scheduled for August 17, with finals getting underway the following week and concluding with the season decider on September 14.
The 2024 schedule has the traditional two byes, with King’s Birthday weekend in June along with the school holidays bye on July 6.
The round five clash between Glenthompson-Dunkeld and Wickliffe-Lake Bolac on May 18 clashes with the Hamilton Kangaroos’ Hampden Football Netball League clash against Terang-Mortlake, with the Rams likely to get priority, due to being the permanent user of the reserve.
The move away from Melville Oval means both the Roos and Rams will share Dunkeld Recreation Reserve in the first half of the year before Glenthompson-Dunkeld moves to Glenthompson for the remainder of the Mininera league campaign.
Finals venues will be announced in the second half of the season when finalists are known, with the league keen to avoid football sides having a home ground advantage.
