DUNKELD Recreation Reserve hosts preliminary final day for the Mininera and District Football League/Netball Association today.

It is the final chance for teams to book a spot in next Saturday’s grand final, with a handful of local teams involved across the day.

The senior football preliminary final will be between Wickliffe-Lake Bolac and Lismore-Derrinallum with Penshurst awaiting the winner in the season decider.

The Magpies finished the season as minor premiers but lost last week’s second semi-final against the Bombers.

Glenthompson-Dunkeld and Lismore-Derrinallum will face-off in the penultimate reserves game of the season, with the winner set to go up against Penshurst in next Saturday’s grand final.

The Under-16.5 preliminary final will be between Tatyoon and Caramut, with Glenthompson-Dunkeld awaiting the winner

Netball

ARARAT Eagles and Woorndoo-Mortlake will take to the court for the A grade preliminary final, with the loser to drop out and the winner to face Tatyoon in next Saturday’s season decider.

The B grade clash will be between Woorndoo-Mortlake and Hawkesdale-Macarthur, with the winner earning the right to face Ararat Eagles in the grand final.

Ararat Eagles and Tatyoon will battle it out on the netball court in the C grade match-up, as Lismore-Derrinallum awaits the winner in the decider.

The third-placed Bombers and Lismore-Derrinallum will battle in the 18-and-Under match-up, with Woorndoo-Mortlake already through to the grand final after finishing as minor premier and winning the second semi-final.

Woorndoo-Mortlake will be in action in the 15-and-Under game, facing off against the Hawks with the winner to progress through to the grand final, where Glenthompson-Dunkeld is already awaiting the winner

The 13-and-Under clash rounds out the games, with Caramut and Tatyoon still in contention for the second grand spot, as they go up against each other with a grand final spot at stake.

Great Western has already qualified for the season decider.

Next Saturday’s grand final day will be at Tatyoon Recreation Reserve.
