PENSHURST has announced its senior football and A grade netball coaches for the 2025 season in the Mininera and District Football League and the Mininera and District Netball Association, as the Bombers aim to fly even higher next season.
The club had great success this season, as it celebrated its 150-year anniversary with both senior and reserves football premierships.
Hot off the recent success, the club announced current senior coach, Jayden Watson, has re-signed with the club, and he will share the coaching role with Josh Rentsch and Luke Searle.
It’s with great pleasure that we announce our 2025 senior coaching group of Jayden Watson, Josh Rentsch and Luke Searle,” the club stated.
Watson has been leading the club for a few years now and the club couldn’t ask for a better mentor and coach for its young group.
Rentsch has been a welcome return this year for the Bombers and is already imparting his knowledge and craft to the players from his time playing for with Sturt in the SANFL.
Searle has been a great recruit, but unfortunately was injured earlier in the season which meant he had to take time off from playing and it allowed him to show his coaching potential.
“All three men prepare, lead, communicate and play football the Bomber way and we are thrilled to have them continue at the helm next year,” Penshurst president, Tim Wilson said.
“We are wrapped to all three on board as they are all stand up gentlemen who have a club/team first attitude.”
Wilson also announced that Brooke Lenehan would return to the A grade coaching role in 2025 after missing 2024 through injury.
“The club is excited to welcome back Brooke, who is a past A grade playing-coach, and we look forward to her leading the girls next season.”
The senior bench coach will be Emily Huglin who will not play next season after being injured in the first quarter of round one this season.
“Emily coached our B grade side this season and also helped out with the A grade team from the bench, so her knowledge and direction will be a big asset.”
