HAMILTON Golf Club attracted plenty of players to the events this past week, including Saturday’s men’s and ladies round.
The men’s A grade winner was Troy Elliott with 39 points, with Daniel Battista finishing runner-up on a countback, two points off the pace.
Jim King finished third and Brent Bell was fourth on a countback.
Stephen Astbury topped the men’s B grade leaderboard with an overall best score of the day with 39 points.
Runner-up honours went to Noel Jennings who finished one point further back, while third place was taken by Shannon Kearns with 37 points on a countback from Phil Schultz.
Saturday’s women’s event was won by a familiar name yet again, as Molly O’Brien continued her winning streak, now with four weeks in a row.
O’Brien is playing extremely well and it is great to see her handicap dropping.
She finished with 39 points to be well clear of runner-up, Enid Smith, who collected 32 points.
Nearest the pins went to Jennings and O’Brien on the third, Elliott on the sixth, Paul Ryan on the 13th and Williams Gubbins and O’Brien shared the honours on the 16th.
David Bourke rounded out the novelty awards with the closest second shot on the ninth.
Wednesday results
THIS week the women played for the Hazeldine-Wines Shield, a straight foursomes stroke event, which can be quite challenging to get into a rhythm when playing every second shot.

Runners-up were Di Raymond and Enid Smith with 72 nett, while third place went to Jenny Edwards and Jane Bunge with 74½ nett.
Fourth place was claimed by Rhonda Scullion and Deb Pinniger with 77 nett, with Jenny Fishburn and Sue Vickery, and Pam Howell and Venita Mibus rounding out the winners list both finishing with 79½ nett.
