GOLFERS converged at Parklands Golf Club for the Monthly Medal on Saturday with a stroke event played amongst showery conditions.
The Monthly Medal was won by an in-form Allan Hitchcock with a nett 61.
The stroke event winner was Barry Oldaker with nett 66, five shots clear of runner-up, Mitch Miller, while Vince O’Brien claimed third place after holding off Heather Hay and Graham Torney in a three-way countback.
Nearest the pins went to Barry Elvery on the second, Vince O’Brien on the third, Miller on the 11th, Marie Cook on the 13th and Steve Nattrass on the 15th.
Oldaker grabbed the longest putt award on the first, Graham Torney on the 16th and Nattrass on the 18th.
The success continued for Oldaker, claiming the Birdies and Ferrets award along with topping the putting ranks.
Allan Hitchcock struck the longest drive.
The players lucky enough to win Monthly Medals during season 2021-2022 will participate in the play-off as part of the April’s Monthly Medal.
Friday nine-hole stableford
FRIDAY’s competition ended up being a family affair across the top three players.
Kelly Hitchcock won the event with 24 points, finishing two points clear of her brother, Mitch Miller.
Kelly’s husband, Allan, finished third with 20 points.
Most players were lucky enough to miss most of the rain that is keeping the course going.
Wednesday 13-hole stableford
GOLF was played under Tropical conditions.
Oldaker found his form earlier in the week, amassing 27 points to just edge out Cook by a single point.
It was a five-way countback for third spot after 23 points proved to be a popular score.
Stuart Turner eventually topped the group ahead of Alex Walter and Bill Evans who finished fifth.
Nearest the pins went to Evans on the 13th, while Walter claimed the longest putt award on the first.
Cook won the Birdies and Ferrets.
Monday stableford
IN perfect conditions golfers played a stableford round to start the week last Monday.
Gaye Goggin was the dominant player, collecting 40 points to easily finish clear of runner-up, Cook, who was six points off the pace.
Nearest the pins went to Goggin on the fifth and Cook on the 13th and 15th.
The longest putt on the first went to Goggin, while Hay claimed the honours on the 17th and Cook on the 18th.
Goggin capped off a stunning round of golf with the Birdies and Ferrets award.

THE club will host a 4BBB stableford event on Saturday and players can enter with a partner of just come along and get involved.
