Bunker shots

THE Easter Saturday stableford event drew 42 men and four women, as John Warden continued his consistent form with a very handy 40 points to win the men’s event.

Jim King was runner-up on a countback from Callem Mizzi after both finished with 38 points.

Balls down the line went to Mal Groves, Kevin King and Chuck Raymond 36 points, Greg Stevens 35, John Andrews, Mark O’Brien and Shane Ryan 34, Terry Dunn and Michael Kelso 33, and Tony O’Connor 32.

Nearest the pins went to Andrew Bowman on the third, King on the sixth, Peter Fox on the 13th, and Warden on the 16th.

The closest second shot on the ninth went to Noel Jennings, while Andrews saluted on the 15th.

The women’s competition was won by Molly O’Brien with 29 points, ahead of runner-up, Lisa Hall, three points off the pace.

O’Brien also took out nearest the pin honours on the third.

Monday

THIRTEEN players participated in a mixed stableford event on Easter Monday.

Troy Elliott took out the winning prize with 36 points, with Tim Lloyd runner-up on a countback with 34 points from Zac Elliott and Stephen Giles.

Tuesday

THE emerging players competition had 11 players on course with Harriet Keatley winning with 30 points, ahead of runner-up, Sheree Brown, with 25 and rounding out the place getters was Jan Hornell with 24.

Wednesday

THE stableford had 39 women take out cards with Kerryn Price claiming victory with 38 points, while Jeanette Carmichael was runner-up on a countback with 37 points.

 B grade winner was Fran McMeel with 35 points, holding of Kath Hartwich by four.

Balls down the line went to Molly O'Brien 37 points, Robyn Holcombe 34, and Deb Milne and Helen Holcombe 32.

Nearest the pins went to O’Brien on the third, and Venita Mibus on the 16th.

The longest putt on the 13th was by Gerri Griffin, while O’Brien scooped the closest second shot on the 15th.

Pennant

PENNANT season is commencing for golfers and the Hamilton Golf Club is fielding several teams.

There are two men’s teams, three women’s teams and one mixed team representing the club.

Good luck to all players involved in pennant matches over the next six weeks.

Today’s event is par for both the men and women.

Good hitting and enjoy the 19th hole.
